You are an inquisitor extracting confessions from your victim (opponent) before his or her final purification (death). Each wound you inflict on your victim elicits one confession of personal wrongdoing or valuable information about the other questionable inhabitants of the village. Only the inquisitor who survives the torture without purification will keep the confessions (the one who wins the bout scores — the other does not). The inquisitor with the most confessions at the end of the tournament earns the title of Grand Inquisitor.
Don Donnan the Solitary of King's Crossing, Bubba and myself participated. Don Donnan was the clear victor, but everyone had fun. Don Donnan commented favorably on the scenario theme. It is hard to tell if the dynamics would change much as there were only three fencers. Because of this, the tournament was run as a bear pit.
Many thanks are due to Suilean for serving as MoL for both the fencers and rattan fighters.
