What's funny is I've been thinking of creating a web page for information on local elected officials. But these guys have used technology in a big way to organize and collate nationwide data, but we would expect no less from MIT, right? The Government Information Awareness page, launched on American Independence Day, is the unofficial response to the Total Information Awareness project.
Hmm, it's hosted at DARPA, the military group that launched the Internet. The Internet was built so that the messages would survive nuclear attack, and now that the plebes have access, information runs rampant. Like cockroaches. There's a mascot for you.
Here's one person at least who was ambivalent about DARPA partially funding the OpenBSD project.
