Magic & Loss

I have been to, fewer now, but many concerts. My brother and a friend saw Lou Red at the DAR Hall in D.C. during his tour for Magic & Loss. The hall, unbelievably, was less than half full (didn't everyone know he was playing?).

It was the best concert I have ever been to.

He was still emotional and funneled all of it through the music.

Before the encore, my friend had the great idea to drag us up to the top and center. Lou cranked out the 'greatest hits' and we danced like fools.

Note: For some reason, the comment section of a Lou Reed web site inspired this.

Ah, yes. I was that brother with Mike at the Lou Reed concert. I seem to remember it as Constitution Hall; I think it goes by both names. The concert was truly exceptional — a great experience overall.

BTW, I just discovered that Lou Reed is a longtime practitioner of tai ji quan. Who else knew (or cared about) that?

Great find on the interview. Highlights Lou's perfectionism, too.
