Yes, I've felt that way before. But I'm still in America, land that I love.
Been reading this essay on Mohammed the Prophet, peace be upon him; peace be upon us all while we're at it. Not unbiased, but helped me understand how he captured the hearts and minds of an empire. More as I continue to read on Islam (I am not ignorant, but wish to understand more of a recently much-maligned religion). Can we learn from Moorish Spain where Muslim, Jew and Christian lived in peace and prosperity?
I've also been reading Rationality and Mind in Early Buddhism by Frank J. Hoffman, thanks to Vaughn. Nice to see a sympathetic Westerner who reads Pali make a rational assessment of Buddhism.
